The Lady of the Chateau is a Creative Studio and Retreats Production House located in the Château de Puy Vidal, a 13th century Chateau in the southwest of France.

This project is the brainchild of Julia Leach and Caroline Ibarra, alongside Julia's sister Penelope, and parents Maruca and Robert Leach. The five of them took a leap of faith to leave thier lives in the US and move to a Chateau, creating a multigenerational family home and developing their vision for The Lady of the Chateau.

The entire family is passionate about braving convention and defining what living beautifully means for yourself. They seek to bring together the right elements to invite their guests into a world where they too can dare to dream, connect and create their own vision of living beautifully. 

Drawing on Julia and Caroline's backgrounds working in the film industry in New York City, the Chateau is conceptualized and used as a cinematic stage, which can be imaginatively and infinitely adapted to the needs of each retreat production. The family and chateau team works to create an immersive, varied and stimulating environment through both the creative focus of the retreat- whether it be painting, photography, writing and more, as well as dining, games, activities and excursion experiences. This helps balance the creative efforts of the day with diversion and play, connection and conversation, and deeply sincere hospitality.

We are fervent in our quest to discover kindred spirits from across artistic disciplines who share our vision of creating exceptional experiences. We work closely with you to understand the essence and focus of the retreat, and build together a fully cohesive guest experience, as well as a beautiful working atmosphere and partnership. Our goal is not just to create individual retreats, but to develop an Artists Circle here at Puy Vidal that is mutually supportive and inspiring.
