This immersive Fantasy Photoshoot Retreat invites you into a world where wildness and romance live side by side. Led by photographer Vanessa Bussoletti, the week unfolds with the natural ease of a fairytale—where the fertile earth, the call of the wind, and the story of old stones gather around you like familiar spirits. Here, in the golden September light of Château de Puy Vidal, you step into three dreamlike versions of yourself: the wild Maiden, the radiant Sovereign Queen, and the beautifully Haunted Romantic who knows the wind by name.
The photography in this retreat works as a journal- that captures you as you awaken the facets of yourself that lie dormant and hidden in a world of loud demands. The part of you that feels the “call of the wild” in your bones. The part of you that has an ancient heart and a childlike spirit. Through inner exploration, poetic styling, and the intimacy of being seen through an artist’s lens, you’ll discover that these inner heroines were never gone—only waiting.
And because this unfolding happens in fellowship with a small circle of kindred spirits, everything deepens. There is something sacred about being witnessed by other women reclaiming their beauty, their wildness, their softness. Evenings become alive, glowing celebrations—dinners by candlelight, immersive atmospheres, and festivities. Here, nestled among the elements, you come home to yourself.
You leave not only with luminous portraits, but with proof:
that you can be gentle and fierce, romantic and untamed, soft and sovereign;
that all of these selves can coexist;
that your inner heroines are ready to step into the light.
Step into a world where the multitudes within you are welcomed, and where the heroine you’ve always sensed within you finally rises, fully and unmistakably, into being.

Artist's Letter
I have always been a creative soul. My love of visual storytelling and artistry drove me to pickup a camera as a teenager, and despite attending university to study for a different career path, my heart continued to lead me back to photography time and time again until I seized the courage, took a leap of faith and pursued it as a career – trusting that my love for the art would translate and resonate with other kindred spirits.
A self-portrait artist and photographer, I seek to help women connect more deeply to themselves. My desire is to capture emotion, mood and a timeless kind of beauty, telling stories of femininity, vulnerability, self-expression and strength through a visually poetic and historical and fantastical lens, creating worlds for all the dreamers.
I want my clients to feel empowered by the beauty and grace they possess within themselves, and it is my goal to help uncover parts of themselves that they have longed to embrace and embody – but have never quite known how.

A Personal Styling Adventure
The Wild Maiden

The Haunted Romantic
A Self-Styling Adventure

This retreat is a self-styling experience—an invitation to begin exploring the many ways your inner heroine wants to be seen, felt, and expressed. As soon as you book, you’ll start dreaming into your three looks: the Wild Maiden, the Sovereign Queen, and the windswept Haunted Romantic. Rather than handing you costumes, we guide you to shape your own visual language—to choose fabrics, textures, silhouettes, and details that awaken something inside you.
Vanessa will support you with moodboards, curated store suggestions, hair and makeup inspiration, and gentle tutorials to spark ideas. And for those who want deeper, more personal guidance, she offers one-on-one calls to help refine your concepts and discover what feels truest.
And once you arrive at the château, the styling journey becomes even more magical. Half the joy is getting ready together—a room full of women helping braid hair, tie ribbons, secure laces, whisper encouragement, and watch each other come alive. The Lady of the Château team is always nearby to help with hair smoothing, lipstick fixes, ribbons, corsets, and the final details that make you feel utterly luminous.
This is the art of expressing your inner heroine—of choosing how you want to be seen, how you want to feel, and how you want each chapter of your story to unfold. Long before you step onto set, you’ll already be stepping into the world you’re creating.

The Heroine Sessions
Led by psychospiritual teacher Collette Corcoran, these Sessions gently guide participants into the inner landscape of the Romantic Heroine. Each session is devoted to one of the retreat’s three archetypal expressions—the Wild Maiden, the Sovereign Queen, and the Gothic Romantic—offering space to explore their emotional textures, longings, and creative energy. Drawing from Jungian psychology, myth, and storytelling, Colette weaves together reflective reading, guided visualization, and simple ritual. The emphasis is not on theory, but on felt experience—helping each woman sense where these archetypes already live within her, and how they wish to be expressed. Following the inner work, movement and breath practices led by you teacher Triinu Siller, offer a way to integrate what’s been stirred—grounding the experience in the body and creating a sense of openness, confidence, and presence. These two-part sessions serve as preparation for the photoshoots that follow, allowing guests to step in front of the camera feeling emotionally attuned, embodied, and at ease.

Built in 1267
A living part of history.
Château de Puy Vidal is a place where time loosens its grip. As you step through the Renaissance staircase and into the ancient rooms of the central wing, you are walking through eight centuries of history—stone walls that have held silence, art, conversation, and change. But this isn’t a museum. This is a living home, one that holds space for beauty, curiosity, and the creative spirit in all its forms.
Every corner tells a story: tapestries and candlelight in the salons, soft light pouring through antique glass, the echo of laughter from several rooms down the long corridors. It’s the kind of place that doesn’t demand your attention but earns it—slowly, reverently, with details that only reveal themselves when you’re truly present.
Puy Vidal is more than a backdrop for your retreat. It’s a companion in your process—a still and storied presence that grounds you, softens you, and gently calls you back to the joy of creating.

Echoes of the Experience

“ I choose this incredible experience not as a want, but an actual need for my senses and well being. In times like these, it is imaginative and creative activities that can nurture the soul.”
Heidi Boucher, Fantasy Photoshoot Participant 2025

“The part I will cherish the most about this experience was getting to meet a bunch of similarly weird, wonderful, creative people like me. It's been a long time where I felt like I could be totally myself.”
Kat Wilbur, Fantasy Photoshoot Participant 2024

"Fully embrace your time here, this experience is worth the work it takes to get here. You are family here and forever after this unique bonding given here. I will never forget the magic here, I'll never forget how changed I feel."
Elizabeth Damm, Fantasy Photoshoot Participant, 2024

"Hide and Seek in the labyrinth might have been the cherry on top of the most magical, fun nights of my adult life. It was as if I was immersed in a world I hadn't accessed or believed in so wholeheartedly since playing pretend as a young child."
Jessica Stocks, Fantasy Photoshoot Participant, 2025

"Through you all, I have come to realize that the creation of a magical life is one of the greatest goals I could pursue."
Elise Estrada, Fantasy Photoshoot Participant, 2025

"Being here, being in community with such wonderful women in such a home of ABUNDANCE, crying, laughing, creating and playing- its the first time in years when I've felt like all the parts of myself I love. I will remember and cherish this expereince like a flame in the night."
Cait Henck, Fantasy Photoshoot Participant, 2024

FAQ
These retreats are for you if...
…you feel called to step into a creative, emotional, or personal chapter of your life with more presence, wholeness, and authenticity. If you’re ready to be part of an intimate group of artists, dreamers, and thoughtful women who value depth over hustle, beauty over busyness, and meaningful connection over surface-level experiences.
These retreats are for you if you’re open-hearted, curious, and willing to engage gently — through conversation, through creation, and through the quiet inner work that naturally arises in a place like this. If you understand that self-expression is a process, not a performance. If you’re able to respect group dynamics, honor others’ stories, and hold space with maturity and emotional intelligence.
They are not a fit if you’re seeking a party environment, a sightseeing tour, or a space to process heavy personal crises. Our retreats are intimate, nourishing, and designed for those in a stable place who are ready to explore their next chapter with clarity and courage.
If that feels like you — if something in you is ready for beauty, depth, and a week of becoming — then we warmly invite you to apply. There is a place for you here.

Led with Vision, Sustained by Love

We are your hosts—and it’s our joy to welcome you into the world we’re building here at Château de Puy Vidal.
Lady of the Château was co-founded and is led by Julia and Caroline, a couple and the creative force behind the brand. They are joined by Julia’s sister Penelope and their parents, Maruca and Robert, to create a family-centered space where creativity, personal growth, and meaningful connection are at the heart of everything they do.
Each retreat is crafted in collaboration with carefully selected guest instructors, chefs, and a small but devoted team—all chosen not only for their talent, but for their deep commitment to presence, generosity, and the art of creating together.
We believe in the transformative power of beauty—that when artists, dreamers, and seekers come together in a place that honors their voice, something shifts. We hope to spark a movement—of more art, more intention, and more creative community rippling outward through each person who passes through our doors.
We hope you’ll join us.
