2024 Season
The 2024 Season at Lady of the Chateau Creative Retreats
Though renovations at the château are forever ongoing, 2024 was the year we decided to open our doors nonetheless — and operate The Lady of the Château in full force. It was a season of creative momentum, filled with painting workshops, fantasy photoshoots, and our first yoga retreat. From sunlit studios to candlelit dinners, artists from around the world came together to paint, dream, and share in the spirit of Puy Vidal. Each retreat deepened our sense of purpose and reaffirmed why we began this journey — to create a home for art, beauty, and connection that continues to evolve with every season.
2023 Season
Retreat to the Château (September 2023)
Our second oil painting workshop — and our second test retreat — marked an exciting chapter at Puy Vidal. Between waves of renovation, we continued to refine our retreat programming and discover what makes this creative haven so special. Partnering with LA-based, British portraitist Johanna Spinks, we welcomed ten enthusiastic beginner and intermediate artists for a week of painting in the golden light of September. From intimate interior studies to plein air sessions and portraiture, the week was filled with inspiration, laughter, and artistic growth — an experience that fueled our passion to keep growing our art retreats at Puy Vidal.
2022 Season
We opened our gates in September of the year 2022, shortly after moving in March of that year. The wonderful artists who took a leap of faith to attend our very first Oil Painting Workshop helped us to feel the potential of art workshops- the feeling of community, growth and challenge that can emerge during one intensive week. We were still testing different models at this point and this year and 2023 would years that helped us focus and consolidate our vision.
